10 Year Impact Report: Reshaping our systems for a healthier Aoteaoroa

Celebrating 10 years of systems change for a healthier Aotearoa.

A healthy Aotearoa starts in the places where we spend our time. In healthier environments, children learn better, workplaces are more productive, people are happier and healthier and communities thrive.

Ten years ago, the launch of Healthy Families NZ marked the beginning of a new and innovative approach to improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Aotearoa. Mandated to do things differently, Healthy Families NZ recognises a whole-of-community, systems change approach is required so that everyone can lead healthy and happy lives.

The Healthy Families NZ journey has localised a national movement across ten regions in Aotearoa, with an emphasis on enabling healthier social and physical environments making it easier for people to access healthy and affordable food, stay physically active, live smokefree, boost mental health and minimise the harm from alcohol.

In 2024, Healthy Families NZ is celebrating a decade of impact. Our Impact Report '10 Years of Impact: Reshaping systems for a healthier Aotearoa' is a measure of our collective growth, progressive wins and a celebration of the countless hands leading healthy change which brings our movement to life.
