Hailing from Ngāti Rēhia and Ngāti Wai, Healthy Families Far North welcomes our newest addition to the team, Tawhi Tua. Growing up in Te Taitokerau, Tawhi brings experience and understanding for the region and the needs of the people and communities here in the Far North.

Having spent a large part of her life working in education, Tawhi sees the importance of setting goals and realising personal and collective potential – strong foundational concepts in system change.

Tawhi joins us from the Tākou Housing Project, in Ngāti Rēhia and is passionate about whānau and how practices and systems thinking can be channeled to devote considerable effort in disrupting preconditions preventing whānau and community prosperity.

Tawhi is an avid “fitness nut” moonlighting as a personal trainer, the mother of six is currently completing her degree in social services.
