One year ago, 16 marae, hapū and community hubs rallied together with Healthy Families Far North under the flag ship Te Rūnanga o Whaingaroa to combat the growing threat of Covid-19 to kuia, kaumatua and vulnerable whānau living in the rohe and surrounding areas of Whangaroa. It is an opportune time to take from the key lessons learnt, our learning, insights of these waves that hit us are documented in the report Ngaru nui, ngaru roa, ngaru paewhenua which also captures the significance of these ‘waves’ and their ability to instruct us as we prepare for the magnitude of what can still lay ahead.

Healthy Families Far North facilitated these reflections through a systems thinking, co-design and mātauranga Māori approach to ensure that the lessons were documented to inform any response plan going forward. We welcome you to read our report. Please view or download from:
