Summer in the Far North and it's time to get your hīkoi on! Here in Taitokerau, our people have made the determination that they're not walking just for the sake of walking.
Active transport/movement is getting ourselves from A to B, hoinō our locals and whānau are walking to destinations like their favourite waterhole, a good fishing spot, to the best place to dive, hauhake (harvest) rongoā for bush medicine, harakeke for raranga or because of the significance of certain landmarks and places to our people.
