Healthy Families Far North are excited to introduce our new office administrator, Waimatangi Hotere.
Born and raised in Manurewa Auckland, Waimatangi (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Mutunga ki Wharekauri) has joined the great migration home, spending three years with Te Pitowhenua as a kapa haka performer and tour guide at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
While she’ll be holding the fort when it comes to all things admin, Waimatangi will also support our System Innovators on the ground, bringing community leadership together to make changes to the systems that influence our everyday lives.
The former kaiawhina at Te Kōhanga Reo o Te Arapeta and member of Te Manu Huia kapa haka is an advocate for the revitalization of Te Reo Māori, and is passionate about improving the health of our people where we live, learn, work and play.
She brings a wealth of experience as a youth leader for Manurewa Marae’s Taiohi Whai Oranga, an organisation guiding community-led initiatives to empower Māori youth to achieve success, and says she’s looking forward to supporting the Healthy Families kaupapa in building a healthy, happy and connected community in Te Tai Tokerau.
Welcome to the whānau, Waimatangi!
